This week’s Charity Miles Champion is Tone it Up Girl Becki Laudon-Blume. She dedicates her Charity Miles to her daughter in support of the American Diabetes Association. Read more about what this amazing mom is doing for herself, her community, and her family.
My name is Becki Laudon-Blume. I am a wife of 11 years to the love of my life. I am a mom of two incredible girls. I am a woman who loves clean eating and chocolate, exercise, and curling up in a super soft blanket. I am a mom who is teaching my girls by example: Share • Love • Inspire • Sweat. I am a Tone It Up girl.
I first found out about Charity Miles back in August 2015. Karena and Katrina, the founders of Tone It Up partnered with Charity Miles for a TIU Fall Charity Challenge. If every Tone It Up girl walked, jogged, or ran 100 miles in 8 weeks (that’s less than 2 miles a day) as a team of thousands, we could provide support to so many outstanding charities. That is where my love affair with Charity Miles started.
The charity I run for is the American Diabetes Association. My youngest daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was in kindergarten. There are so many times you can choose to feel helpless over this disease as it can take choices away and dictates your life. We are choosing to get up and get moving.
I am so thankful for the partnership between Charity Miles and the American Diabetes Association (ADA). I love that Charity Miles has made it possible for so many to contribute and support the important life-changing work the ADA is doing.
