Today's podcast is with Sally Bergesen, Founder and CEO of Oiselle, a Seattle-based athletic apparel company– by women, for women.

Here are links to get it on iTunesStitcher, and Google Play.

I first learned of Oiselle because they have a huge and very passionate community using Charity Miles, ever since we first launched in 2012.

Since then, I've always looked up to Oiselle as a brand, and Sally personally for the way she has built her company– and her community.

So, a couple of weeks ago, when I was in Seattle to visit family, I met Sally on the shores of Lake Washington for one of the most spectacular runs I've ever been on.

We talked about the intersection of business and community, “rage runs”, and the importance of what you do after your run.  (Hint, it's not a cool down.)

It was absolutely stunning. Thank you, Sally!

Please come along for the walk or run with us this weekend. And please share it with someone special.

P.S. You can check out Oiselle here.

P.P.S. In the podcast, I mention a quote from Once a Runner, my favorite book of all time.  Here it is…

“It's a simple choice! We can all be good boys and wear our letter sweaters around and get our little degrees and find some nice girl to settle, you know, down with… Take up what a friend of ours calls the hearty challenges of lawn care…

Or we can blaze! Become legends in our own time, and strike fear in the hearts of mediocre talent everywhere! We can scald dogs, and put records out of reach! Make the stands gasp as we blow into an unearthly kick from three hundred yards out! We can become God's own messengers delivering the dreaded scrolls! We can race Satan himself till he wheezes fiery cinders down the back straight away… They'll speak our names in hushed tones, ‘those guys are animals' they'll say! We can lay it on the line, bust a guy, and show them a clean pair of heels. We can sprint the turn on a spring breeze and feel the winter leave our feet! We can, by god, let out demons loose and just wail on!”
