Day 1: #STRENGTH

National Girls and Women in Sports Day is coming up on February 5th, and we're thrilled that our friends at Athleta are helping us celebrate with our first challenge of the year!

It's called an Alphabet Challenge, and here's how it works…

1.  Below is a legend assigning a different exercise to each letter of the alphabet.  

2.  Each day from now through February 5th, we'll announce a Workout Word of the Day.  The challenge is to do the exercises represented by the letters in that word.

For example, today's word is #STRENGTH:

  • # = 1 MINUTE JUMPING JACKS (WARM UP)
  • S = LEG LIFTS (ABS)
  • T = DONKEY KICKS (X EACH LEG)
  • R = WALL SIT (30 SECONDS – 1 MIN)
  • E = SUPERWOMAN
  • N = HIGH KNEES (30 SECONDS – 1 MIN)
  • G = SQUAT JACKS
  • T = DONKEY KICKS (X EACH LEG)
  • H = SHOULDER TOUCH PLANKS (X EACH ARM)


3.  If you don't know how to do one of the above exercises, just Google it.  If you need to modify any of the exercises for your ability, no problem.  You can choose the number of reps of each exercise to do.  10 = Bronze; 25 = Silver; 50 = Gold.

4.  Share a photo or video with the word of the day to our Facebook Group, or tag @CharityMiles and @Athleta on Instagram or Twitter so we can see your workout.  Let us know if you did Bronze, Silver or Gold.

5.  Each day we'll randomly select a winner who will receive a free Charity Miles T-Shirt and a $25 Shop Card from Athleta.
