Bringing people together through Lincoln International’s charity challenge

Early in 2021, Lincoln International was looking for a community impact and employee engagement initiative that would work in a virtual environment.

“We were seeking a solution where our people could be socially distant while also bringing them together,” says Lindsey Bunch, a member of Lincoln International’s talent team. “We were trying to find a global initiative that was both community-and wellness-driven.”

Lincoln International has over 700 employees worldwide. Every April, the month of the Company’s founding, they do a community impact initiative.

Lindsey and her colleagues discovered Charity Miles in early 2021 and decided to use the app to engage employees in a month-long activity challenge that April.

To choose the charities, the organizers compiled a list of around 15 charities “within broad categories that tied together with our charitable giving history,” says Lindsey.

Categories included youth development and education, resources for underprivileged communities, and environmental endeavors.

“We made sure that the charities on the list were global in nature,” says Lindsey, since their global employee base shares a “passion for charitable giving all across the world.”

Employees voted to support three charities: Doctors Without Borders, the Hunger Project, and UNICEF. Lincoln International has partnered with UNICEF for many years, and the organizers were happy to continue that contribution through the Charity Miles challenge.

The team raised over $53,000 through the month of April!

Over half of the global employees participated, and “feedback was extremely positive,” says Lindsey.

“The people who participated had very strong engagement and loved the competitive nature of the challenge,” Lindsey continues. “It was a nice way to bring our global employees together through a shared initiative.”

“A number of our offices hosted Friday walks or bike rides where people — in some cases, for the first time in many months — got to see each other in person and come together for an outdoor activity.”

“We are excited to do it again,” Lindsey adds.

Congratulations to the whole team for their support of three wonderful charities. We’re excited to see you again as well! #EveryMileMatters
